5 Valuable Hank Williams Records Value

Published Categorized as Vinyl 101

Have you got a few old Hank Williams LPs lying around at home that you think might be worth something? What is the Hank Williams records value nowadays?

Well, let’s find out shall we, as we explore five of the most valuable records by Hank Williams Sr. available today.

1. Greatest Hits Vol. 2

Value: $500+

Since he was such a popular recording artist in his time, Hank Williams records value is generally not as high as some others but there are still some that are worth quite a pretty penny.

Hank Sr. didn’t actually release many albums in his time. Rather, he was operating at a time when it was more common to just release singles and perform a whole bunch.

Thus, we are not left with a whole lot of vinyl records to collect that aren’t just compilations. This, however, is one of the most sought-after for some reason, fetching upwards of $500 for a single compilation. True, it is a double LP, but that’s no reason for it to cost so much, right?

2. Legends of Country Music

Value: $250+

As ever with Hank Williams vinyl records, we have a greatest hits album, though this time it is kept within the confines of a wooden frame. The seller has this to say about it:

‘The display measures 19 inches tall by 23 inches wide.

‘Full-size album art measures 12 inches by 12 inches, the large LP has been plated over a real black vinyl record and then polished to a mirror finish.

‘The frame is made of wood and has a beautiful black lacquer finish. This display has what is known as Museum Glass which is a UV-protected framers grade acrylic which is non-breakable.’

The validity of this release is yet to be identified. Often with these kinds of things, it is far more about grabbing some cash from a gullible consumer. However, those who are up for debate should be considered innocent until proven guilty.

3. Ramblin’ Man

Value: $200+

One of few actual instances of Hank Williams featuring on an album of curated songs rather than simply a compilation album, this is an opportunity not to be overlooked. Full of gospel songs, this item of music memorabilia is sadly not intended to be listened to.

Rather, it is meant to hang on the wall, though if sold, you will still be able to see the catalog number throughout the room. In this way, you can hang all your favorite albums on the wall and then keep them as CDs for when you want to actually listen to them.

This is the way that vinyl has been going for a long time anyhow, having become far more about the aesthetic value of being a record collector than the actual joy one might feel when utterly engrossed in it. Be part of a sickening trend of collecting for collecting’s sake now, all at a reasonable price!

4. Sing Me A Blue Song

Value: $180+

This is a copy of another Hank Williams album – yes, an actual album – that has been, again, garbed in glass and plywood, framed for the aesthetic delight of all involved.

This is what the seller has to say:

‘This is an authentic ORIGINAL VINTAGE HANK WILLIAMS SING ME A BLUE SONG album cover that is beautifully double matted and framed with the corresponding gold metalized authentic vinyl pressing of that classic lp.. it is housed in a new black wood frame and its dimensions are 24 x 20..

‘It comes with a COA that states that contained in this frame is a metalized original vinyl pressing of the record and an original LP cover. This is NOT a generic disc with a bogus photocopied record label like others being sold elsewhere .

‘Absolutely no reproductions whatsoever inside this great frame.. As with most vintage items, there will be some slight wear and some light scratches, but it does not detract from the overall beauty and rarity of this great item!’

5. I Saw the Light

Value: $170+

For someone who led such a raucous and sinful lifestyle, Hank sure loved to harp on about the lord, didn’t he? This has to be one of the most valuable vinyl records for spiritual value at least.
