Licensed To Ill (30th Anniversary Edition)

Beastie Boys

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the Beastie Boys’ inaugural album, “Licensed To Ill,” receives a special edition release, pressed from the original production masters onto 180gm heavyweight vinyl.

Featuring an unbroken string of Beastie Boys hits such as “Hold It Now, Hit It,” “Brass Monkey,” “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party),” “No Sleep Till Brooklyn” (with Slayer’s Kerry King), and “Girls,” this album made history as the first Hip Hop record to reach the summit of the Billboard 200. By 2015, it earned a Diamond certification from the RIAA. In 1998, The Source included it among the 100 Best Rap Albums, noting it as the only album from a Jewish hip-hop group to garner five mics. Rolling Stone magazine honored it as well, placing it at number 217 on its list of the 500 greatest albums of all time in 2003 and later acclaiming it as the best debut album ever in 2013. Vibe also recognized its significance, listing it among the 100 Essential Albums of the 20th Century. This limited edition pressing on 180gm vinyl LP not only honors the album’s monumental impact on music but also offers fans a piece of hip-hop history.
